According to Goal.com, Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund for £25.5 million.

A medical is planned for July, United clearly looking to get players into summer camp as quickly as they can to integrate the players.

Gundogan has won 7 caps for Germany to date, and is highly rated. Highly technical footballer who is similar in playing style to Michael Carrick a vastly underrated footballer in my opinion, however, Gundogan has more mobility in his play.

Been known for a while that Van Gaal has been looking out for more options in a holding midfield role, he has played Daly Blind and even Phil Jones there this season with limited success.

Carrick is getting advanced in years and prone to injuries, so Gundogan at 24 years of age, seems to be a good investment.
