Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a surprise move to West Ham United, according to Daily Telegraph.

Sam Allardyce’s future with the Hammers was confirmed shortly after the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday’s final day of Premier League fixtures.

The West London club have been scouring Europe for a potential replacement to Big Sam for some-time, which has seen both former player Slaven Bilic and former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez linked.

The latter now seems to be in line for the Real Madrid job after club president Florentino Perez made calls for Ancelotti to be removed from his role, following a season which has seen the Spanish capital side win no silverware.

AC Milan have been linked with the Italian coach but it is understood that he will not welcome a return to the San Siro.

The departure of Allardyce, by “mutual consent”, was announced on the club’s website immediately after the defeat at St. James Park, leading to some reports that the English coach could replace John Carver at his former club.
