Arsenal are favourites to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton and could seal a deal for the midfielder shortly after the season ends, according to Daily Telegraph.
Both Arsenal and Spurs have been heavily interested in the French midfielder, whilst Manchester United and Liverpool have also been keen.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is doing all he can to keep the talented central player at the club and officials have slapped a £25m asking price in his shoulders.
However, that fee has not put off the likes of Arsenal, who are now said to be in pole position to complete a deal shortly after the Premier League season ends.
Initial reports have claimed that the Gunners were only keen to pay a fee of £20m, but the Telegraph report that they have now moved on from that stance as they seek to sure up their central midfield area.
Meanwhile, Tomas Rosicky has signed a new one-year contract extension at the Emirates stadium.
