Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has signed a new contract extension with the Gunners, confirmed by boss Arsene Wenger.

The versatile midfielder has been on the fringes of a starting place this season at the Emirates but has made just five Premier League starts.

His time with the North London side was expected to come to an end this summer, along with the likes of Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby, who are expected to be moved on.

However, Wenger has now confirmed that a one-year extension has been agreed, meaning the 32-year-old will remain in England until next summer.

“Yes, we have taken up the option (of a one-year contract extension),” boss Wenger tols a news conference this morning.

“Tomas Rosicky is not involved in the transfer market at all, he will be with us next season.”

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side are currently third in the Premier League.
