Pep Guardiola is tempted by the prospect of managing Manchester United and will weigh up Louis van Gaal’s future next summer, according to Manchester Evening News.

The former Barcelona treble winner is under increasing pressure with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich after being knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage to Barcelona two weeks ago.

Guardiola is known for his short stint with club’s, citing a desire to leave a project when he feels it is at its end and after winning back-to-back titles with Bayern, it is understood that he wants to leave the club either this summer or next.

Manchester City have been interested, with some reports claiming that the Catalan coach could arrive at the Etihad stadium and replace Manuel Pellegrini.

However, Manchester Evening News reports that Guardiola wants to see if Van Gaal has a long term future with United.

Linked with a move to Old Trafford whilst at former club Barcelona, Guardiola is still firmly tipped to take place in the home dugout with the Red Devils.
