According to a report in Tele Mundial, both Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez and Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin will be announced as Arsenal players following the World Cup.

Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez has been in superb from during the World Cup and was indeed a consistent performer for Barcelona last season, but his future at the Catalan club has been heavily debated in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, French international Morgan Schneiderlin is expected to follow the likes of Luke Shaw [Man United] and Rickie Lambert [Liverpool] out of Southampton this summer.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been keen to add more fire-power to his attacking options this summer and although reported moves for Loic Remy and Karim Benzema are still being maintained, Sanchez’s arrival will add goals and assists.

Schneiderlin, who has made over 200 appearances for the Saints since he joined them in 2008 – is likely to replace Mikel Arteta, who seems to be edging closer to a summer exit.

A reported £42m deal for the pair, with Alexis Sanchez costs £32m of that is expected to be announced following the World Cup finals in Brazil.

Chile were eliminated on Saturday evening on penalties by host nation Brazil, whilst France will meet Nigeria on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals.
