Manchester United have been told to forget about making a bid for Ajax keeper Jasper Cillessen.

Louis van Gaal is becoming increasingly worried at the prospect of losing current number one and club player of the year David de Gea this summer to Real Madrid.

And, despite links to Tottenham Hotspur stopper Hugo Lloris and Chelsea back-up keeper Petr Cech, reports now claim that Cillessen is the favourite to replace the Spaniard.

The 26-year-old Dutch international is valued at around £25m and has been impressing United’s chief goalkeeper coach Frans Hoek.

However, Ajax coach Marc Overmars has told United to forget making a summer move, telling De Telegraaf that “Jasper is not for sale, not even for 25m before adding that the Premier League outfit are yet to make an official approach.

Further reports claim that United have made one last attempt to keep De Gea at the club but the wishes of his girlfriend and his desires are making a move back to the Spanish capital seem extremely likely.
