Manchester United have made an approach for Twente attacker Bilal Ould-Chikh, according to various reports.

Louis van Gaal has been a long term admirer of the youngster but faces tough competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Benfica and Porto.

The Dutch U19 international has a contract with the Eredivisie side until June 2016; a deal which they hope to extend when he turns 18 in July.

However, talks with Ould-Chikh are said to have broken down in recent weeks, sparking interest from the aforementioned clubs.

Valued at around £2m, the young attacker is now on the radar of others in Europe, such as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan

United are said to have taken action though over the weekend and made contact with Twente over a deal.
