Arsenal have opened talks with Chelsea about a £10 million deal for Petr Cech, according to reports.

Cech has played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois this season and has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, gaining interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and other top European clubs.

And, it is now understood that Arsenal have made significant ground to sign the Czech Republic international.

Chelsea have informed all interested parties that the keeper can leave this summer for a fee of £10m, and it is understood that the Gunners have begun formal talks with their London rivals over a completed deal.

Cech is seen as the perfect replacement for Wojciech Szczesny, who has faltered both on and off the field this season, whilst David Ospina, whilst in good form, is though to be only a stand in option for Arsene Wenger.
