West Ham have opened talks with Andre Ayew’s representatives and are looking to land the winger on a free from Marseille this summer.

Ayew will leave the French club for the Premier League his summer, and has attracted interest from a number of clubs.

The Ghana international will see his current contract expire in June, allowing him to discuss terms with a new club.

Liverpool have held a long term interest in the Marseille attacker, whilst North London rivals Arsenal and Man United have been linked.

Newcastle are understood to have made contact in recent weeks and offered the speedy forward a pre-contract offer, whilst Bayer Leverkusen are also keen.

However, it now seems that West Ham United are in pole position to sign the talented Ghana international, after opening talks with his agent.

The 25-year-old former African Footballer of the Year has scored four goals and created three in 17 games for the Ligue 1 side this season.
