Tottenham Hotspur are ready to double Harry Kane’s wages to stop him from joining Manchester United.

The England international has been in superb form this season, scoring over 30 goals for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in all competitions.

Links with a move away from White Hart Lane have been reported, whilst Real Madridhave also identified the striker as a potential summer signing.

Man United are extremely keen as boss Louis van Gaal prepares to build a side worthy and capable of winning the Premier League title next season.

Reports have claimed that a £45m deal could be agreed between the two sides, a fee that would compensate Kane’s sale at Spurs and allow Pochettino to a move for a number of striker options this season.

United are also said to be in talks with Real Madrid over the signing of Gareth Bale, meaning Kane could link up with his former Spurs team-mate at Old Trafford next season.

The England international committed his future to his boyhood club last August, signing a new deal worth £35,000-per-week.

However, it is claimed that White Hart Lane bosses are now set to double that and offer a fee of £60,000-£70,000 per week in a bid to halt United’s interest.
