Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that new signing Nathan will be sent out on loan next season.
The Blues announced on Thursday that they had signed the talented 19-year-old in a deal worth £4.5m.
The midfielder, who has appeared for Brazil’s national side at every age barring the senior side, will meet his new team-mates in July, but Mourinho has spoken of his plans to loan the youngster out for his first season in English football.
Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem, linked with Chelsea, are favourites to sign him on a one-year deal, following the footsteps of Wallace, Josh McEachran and Bertrand Traore.
“Nathan will not be in Chelsea’s squad next year, simple as that,” Mourinho told reporters.
“You buy, in very good circumstances before the price goes to the moon. You develop the player. He belongs to you, is on loan, and in the right moment you bring him back.”
