Atletico Madrid are considering moving for Tottenham’s Erik Lamela should Antoine Griezmann depart this summer, according to reports.

It is believed that the French international is wanted by Jose Mourinho as part of his plans to build a Champions League winning side this summer.

Griezmann has been in superb form this season for Atletico Madrid following his £24m switch from Real Sociedad, scoring 22 goals in 33 league games.

Griezmann has a £43m release clause in his current deal at Vicente Calderon and it now seems that Chelsea have been given the green light to make that move after the Spanish side looked to complete a move for Spurs winger Erik Lamela as his replacement.

Lamela has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League and is tipped to leave White Hart Lane this summer.

Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma have been interested, but Atletico are keen to sign him for next season.
