Manchester United are keen on making a summer move for Lazio attacker Felipe Anderson, according to Italian reports.

United sent chief scout Jim Lawlor has been a frequent watcher of the Brazilian forward this season and was highly impressed following a 2-0 win over Verona earlier this year, in which the talent scored.

Lawlor has since returned to Old Trafford to put his report into boss Louis van Gaal, although doubts over whether or not the English club will make a summer move continue.

The 21-year-old recently signed a new deal with the Serie A club and has an asking price of around £30m, a figure which is causing United problems.

Van Gaal believes that he could use that amount of money on a more ‘important’ signing, sticking with his desire to improve in the defensive areas.

Negotiations to lower the price are ongoing with the Italian club keen to explore the chances of having Adnan Januzaj on loan as part of the deal.
