Real Madrid to Man United: Your not the only team in Manchester who wants Bale

Real Madrid have informed Manchester United that city rivals Manchester City are also in the race to sign Gareth Bale, Football Express News understands.

The sales of Di Maria and Van Persie will save United a whopping £500,000-per-week next season and reports earlier this week claimed that they plan to use that funding to make an £80m bid for Madrid winger Bale.

Bales has had a frustrating year with the Spanish giants and has struggled to replicate the form that made him one of the most consistent players in the world at Tottenham Hotspur two seasons back.

A summer move is expected with the club’s fans attacking him verbally throughout the season, whilst team-mates like Cristiano Ronaldo and co have also been forward in their critique of the Welsh international.

However, United officials have been informed by their Madrid counterparts that any such deal will be matched by another interested club – city rivals Man City.

City have been monitoring Bale’s situation at the Santiago Bernabeu since the turn of the year and have asked the Spanish club to keep them updated on his availability.
