Everton have asked Manchester United about the possibility of signing Nani on loan for next season, according to The Sun.

The Portuguese international has been in superb form for Sporting Lisbon this season, enjoying his loan spell from United, scoring six goals in 25 Liga Sagres games.

His performances in the Portuguese league this season have been impressing a number of top European clubs, with United themselves keen to give the winger another chance at Old Trafford.

A January return to United failed to go through but it is likely he will return in the summer, however, Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keen to explore the possibility of a loan move, forcing United boss Louis van Gaal to make a quick decision on the 28-year-old.

Some reports claim that Nani would be available for around £15m on a permanent move, but Martinez wants to secure a one year loan deal.
