Chelsea keen on Man City striker to replace Drogba

Chelsea are prepared to make a summer move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, according to Daily Mirror.

Ivorian striker Drogba is expected to call time on his Chelsea career this summer and take up a role with the coaching staff.

His absence will leave Blues boss Jose Mourinho with a problem, leaving just Diego Costa and Loic Remy as his only recognised striking options, however, it is understood that the latter is also set to leave this summer with Lyon and Monaco interested.

The Premier Leauge side champions are now keen to make a move for Man City striker Dzeko as a replacement for Drogba, however, it seems unlikely that City would allow the Bosnian to leave for their English rivals.

Dzeko has been linked with a summer exit after having limited playing time at the Etihad stadium this season, making just 11 Premier League starts in which he has scored four times.

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have also been interested and seem the viable option for whom City will sell too.
