Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has admitted he would like to see Blues legend Petr Cech stay at the club.

The Czech Republic international has become out-of-favour to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, having only made four Premier League appearances this season.

Having already commented on his opinion of sitting on the bench, Cech’s agent Victor Kolar today revealed that he had been given permission by the club to find Cech a new club for next season.

The 32-year-old has spent 11 seasons with Chelsea, but has now been repeatedly linked with a move away with Arsenal, Liverpool and Besiktas rumoured to be interested in landing his signature.

But speaking today, Mourinho said: “I don’t know if it’s absolutely true what the agent is saying.

“Petr is one of my best so I would like him to stay and I have to say; yes, I am optimistic that he can be here next year.”

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side are currently top of the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 84 points, 11 points ahead of Manchester City in second.
