Mario Götze is set to stay at  Bayern Munich, despite reports of a swap deal for Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria, according to Kicker.

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann was speaking to Goal.com last week when he confirmed that officials at the Allianz Arena were far from impressed with the World Cup final goalscorer.

Gotze, who joined Bayern from Borussia Dortmund two seasons back has failed to cement his place in their side and has played a bit part role for Pep Guardiola this season.

Hamann said: “Mario Gotze is badly out of form and has hardly contributed for Bayern Munich this season.

‘It would be best for the club and the player if he moved on this summer.”

However, it is understood that talks between the World Cup winner and the Bundesliga champions have now agreed that he will remain at the club and be given more playing time under Pep Guardiola next season.
