According to Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward, the signing of Memphis Depay was just the start of what is going to be an extremely busy summer of business.

Woodward has assured the United fans that the club will have the squad capable to challenge in all competitions they participate in next season. He has also told fans to expect a busy summer of activity at Old Trafford.

“In regards to this summer’s transfer activity we have already started implementing our plans and last week announced that Memphis Depay, viewed as one of the most exciting young players in Europe, will be joining the first-team,” the chief exec said.

“We expect to be active again during the window, but it’s too early to give guidance on transfers or wages at this point.”

Manchester United will have a summer preparing for a Champions League challenge, after spending a year out of the famous competition. The Red Devils are currently six points ahead of Liverpool, with a better goal difference, also.
