Arsenal are considering a move for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel as an alternative to Petr Cech, according to Daily Mail.

Arsenal’s race to sign a new keeper this summer is developing fast as boss Arsene Wenger has made tentative transfer talks with rivals Chelsea about the services of Petr Cech.

Cech has been the talk of English press in recent weeks as his future at Stamford Bridge looks set to end, prompted mainly by the impressive form of Thibaut Courtois.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs including  Liverpool and Inter Milan, whilst Ray Wilkins made comments earlier this week that the Czech Republic international could be set to join Paris Saint Germain.

However, despite those claims, Arsenal are keen. But, should they miss out on the Blues stopper, it is understood that Wenger will turn his attentions to Leicester stopper Schmeichel, who has impressed this season.
