Chelsea and Liverpool are eyeing a cut-price £20m move for Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao.

After a string of poor performances for United and a lack of playing time under Louis van Gaal, Falcao is now ready to call time on his career at Old Trafford.

Having signed on a one-year loan deal last summer, the Colombian was fully expected to secure a permanent move to United, but he has failed to live up to their expectations, scoring just four goals.

And, after being made to represent United’s U21 side earlier in the season, the former Porto man instructed agent Jorge Mendes to search for a new club.

Mendes has close connections with Blues boss Jose Mourinho after the latter’s time at Real Madrid and the Portuguese agent is now trying to convince him to sign Falcao and give him a chance in English football.

Juventus are also interested, whilst Tottenham Hotspur have been linked.
