Glen Johnson is set to return to West Ham United when his Liverpool contract expires in the summer, according to the Sunday People.

Former England defender Johnson will see his contract end this summer at Anfield and links to a number of Premier League and Italian clubs have been reported.

Whilst the likes of Fiorentina and Roma have been interested, it is heavily expected that the defender will remain in England and looks on the verge of a move back to his former club – West Ham.

The right-back has recently admitted that it is likely he will be leaving Liverpool during the summer and officials at the West London club are keen to bring him back to the club.

“I haven’t got a contract so it doesn’t look as if I will be staying,” he said.

“We will have to see if that is going to change but I don’t think so.”
