Manchester United officials have arrived in Paris to complete a move for Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

United have put Cavani at the top of their transfer list ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, and it has been reported that talks over a deal have already begun.

The Red Devils are suggested to be lining up an offer worth £55m to sign the striker, and reports show that United have been handed a boost to sign the 28-year-old after the former Napoli goal-scorer handed in a transfer request at the weekend.

And, it is understood that officials left Manchester for Paris late on Sunday evening to undergo further talks.

The South American has also attracted attention from Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Liverpool, but United look to wipe out competition by outbidding their rivals.

Cavani has been in good form this season, but problems off the field with boss Laurent Blanc and strike partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic have seen a summer move look increasingly likely.
