Liverpool make official £22m bid for Manchester United target

Liverpool have made an official £22m bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.

The French striker has scored 27 goals in Ligue 1 this season and has attracted the likes of many on-looking European sides, who have all enquired as to his current asking price, reportedly set at around £21.7m.

Newcastle and Chelsea have led interest, whilst a lucrative move to Qatar has also been mentioned in the French press.

Man United boss Louis van Gaal has also been keen on a summer move having turned his attention from Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani but Liverpool are now said to be heading interest after an official bid was made over the weekend.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is willing to try Brendan Rodgers’ interest, but our sources confirm that PSG are also keen on moving forward with developments.
