Bournemouth are eyeing a move for Monaco striker Dimitar Berbatov as they prepare for life in the Premier League next season, according to Daily Express.

The Bulgarian striker is not ready to hang up his boots, despite a varied footballing career and has instructed his agent to find him a move back to England.

His current club Monaco have been charged by UEFA for breaking financial rules recently and will only be allowed to name a 22-man squad next season, meaning the former Tottenham Hotspur and Man United striker could be told to move on.

Premier League new-boys Bournemouth believe his experience and talent can bring them added value next season, but wage demands of £100,000-a-week could stumble such a move.

Promotion means Eddie Howe will try to sign at least three experienced players in key positions this summer and Jermain Defoe of Sunderland has also been linked.

The former Spurs striker joined the Black Cats from MLS side Toronto in January but it is understood that he will be looking to move on this summer.
