Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani, Football Express News understands.

The Uruguayan striker has been heavily tipped to call time on his career with PSG this summer after a number of disagreements with boss Laurent Blanc and strike partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Chelsea have been interested, whilst Man United boss Louis van Gaal has watched the former Napoli striker on a number of occasions this season.

However, it is now understood that after enquiring about his price, Dutch boss Van Gaal is now said to have called off any such move for the talented forward.

The 28-year-old is said to be available for around £55m and it is understood that Serie A champions Juventus are ready to spend that cash to bring him back to the Italian top flight.

The South American has also attracted attention from Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Liverpool.

United are now said to be moving their interest towards Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
