Liverpool considering move for Italian midfield legend

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on making a summer move for Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo, according to reports in Italian press.

The 35-year-old has a year left on his current contract in Turin and is keen on a move to either England or the United States.

Pirlo has played a big part in Juve’s four consecutive Serie A titles and is on the verge of a potential Champions League final, having beaten Real Madrid 2-1 in the first leg of their semi-final earlier this week.

Rodgers will lose club legend Steven Gerrard this summer, who is set to join LA Galaxy, and the Northern Irish coach is keen to install Pirlo in his place.

According to Italian publication Tuttosport, Liverpool have registered interest in the former AC Milan midfielder and have received a good response.

In total, Pirlo has massed over 800 senior appearances both at club level and national level, where he has featured for Italy on 113 occasions.
