Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made a decision on the future of young full-back Carl Jenkinson, who had been tipped to join West Ham United this summer.

Jenkinson has been on loan with Sam Allardyce’s side this season and has impressed on various occasions, sparking interest from the Upton Park outfit to seal a permanent move.

However, Gunners boss Wenger has been in two minds whether or not allow the defender to leave the Emirates to give him the chance to impress next season.

The 23-year-old is said to be happy to remain at Arsenal and attempt to force his way into the starting eleven, and it now seems that Wenger is also of the same thinking.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash with Swansea City, the French tactician told reporters: “The decision is now whether or not to bring him back or give him one more year on loan.”

Arsenal sit comfortably in third place in the Premier League, whilst West Ham, of whom, Jenkinson has played 33 times for this season, are ninth after a moderately good season.
