Football Express News understands that Liverpool and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has told close friends that the only way he can escape criticism is to make a move to Barcelona.

The Controversial striker was given a four month football ban on Thursday after a biting incident for his country against Italy in the World Cup and his future at Liverpool has further been questioned.

The Liverpool striker had suffered heavy criticism for his actions whilst playing at Anfield, which involved a racist comment made towards Manchester United’s Patrice Evra and a similar biting incident on Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.

Suarez, who has now returned to his native Uruguay, pending an appeal to his ban, has gained interest from Barcelona, who have looked closely at his footballing abilities, rather than his on field actions.

And, it is understood that his father in law, who lives 10 minutes away from the Catalan capital is now begging the striker to make a summer move to the Camp Nou.

FEN also understands that the former Ajax goalscorer has also talked to his close friends about making the move, one which he feels would silence criticism after his recent actions.

Barcelona are still keen but have informed Suarez and his representatives that moves would have to be made for him to undergo a behavioural improvement programme.

Liverpool are yet to comment on the situation regarding their in-form striker.
