Tottenham Hotspur are willing to meet Max Kruse’s £9m release clause and sign the Borussia Monchengladbach striker.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has held a long term interest in the German striker having watched him impress for the Bundesliga side this season.

Kruse has scored 10 goals in 29 appearances this season and has attracted interest from a number of European sides and Bundesliga sides.

The striker has played a big part in helping Monchengladbach up to third and Pochettino is now ready to splash the cash this summer.

SportBild claim that Spurs have submitted a bid in the region of £8.9m and are hoping to seal his signature before the summer.

Pochettino has had limited striking options this season with Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado struggling to make an impact.

A deal is far from being completed but Spurs owner Daniel Levy is willing to pay Kruse’s release clause if need be.
