Football Express News understands Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is unwilling to give up in his chase for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

The French striker has been in superb form over recent seasons for Real Madrid but question marks over his future at the Santiago Bernabeu began after he scored just one goal in his last 11 games of the La Liga season.

However, his form for the French national team in Brazil has been much different, contributing heavily to his country’s impressive start to the World Cup and that has led those doubters to retract their thoughts on his future at the Spanish club.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti remains unsure as he continues to be interested in Radamel Falcao of Monaco and Sergio Aguero of Manchester City.

And, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to push a move for the former Lyon man, hoping to add to his strike force, that consists of just Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo.

Benzema’s current deal with Madrid is due to expire next summer and a new deal has stalled in recent weeks, giving Wenger hope that he could sign the striker.

Meanwhile, any chance of a return to the Emirates for Carlos Vela were ended earlier this week after Real Sociedad announced that they had signed the player outright, in a move that did not include any buy-back clause to the Gunners.
