Premier League new boys Bournemouth are ready to make a move for Celtic star Charlie Mulgrew, according to reports in The Scottish Sun.

The 29-year-old Scotland international has just one year remaining on his contract at Parkhead – and Cherries boss Eddie Howe is hopeful he can lure Mulgrew away from the Scottish Premier League. The Celtic star has spent a large chunk of the season on the sidelines due to injury, but Howe will test the Scottish giants’ resolve with a bid for their versatile midfielder.

Mulgrew, who was a £150,000 signing from SPL rivals Aberdeen in July 2010, has gone on to make 186 appearances for the Bhoys, netting 27 times in the process.

The Cherries are gearing up for their first ever Premier League season, after winning the Championship title last week with a 3-0 win at Charlton. Howe’s side have already been linked with a number of players, but they will be hopeful they can snap up Mulgrew.
