Carlos Tevez’s second half penalty gave Juventus a 2-1 first leg win over Real Madrid at Juventus stadium.

The home side started superbly at the Juventus stadium as both Arturo Vidal and Stefano Sturaro tested the finger tips of Iker Casillas.

Down the other end it was Cristiano Ronaldo who was the most lively for Real Madrid and he tested the Juventus goal early on with a free kick.

A lively start to the game saw the home side take the lead and it came through former Madrid man Alvaro Morata who was on hand to tap home from close range after good work from Carlos Tevez.

It was the first goal the Spanish side had conceded away from home in the Champions League for over 450 minutes, but they bounced back when Ronaldo nodded in his 76th European goal.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first with the home side on top and they would soon find the lead once more after a superb move which ended with Tevez being hauled down by full-back Marcelo.

The Argentine forward picked himself up to send the resulting spot kick past a helpless Casillas.

Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti looked to bounce back once more by sending on Javier Hernandez, who almost netted an equaliser had it not been for a deflection from Andrea Pirlo, which saw the ball drift wide.

The final 10 minutes saw Madrid press the Italian champions but they were unable to find a leveller, leaving the tie open for the return leg next week.
