Newcastle United have agreed a deal with Anderlecht for striker Aleksander Mitrovic, according to various reports.
The striker has attracted interest from a number of European clubs this season after some superb performance in the Belgian league and in the early rounds of the Champions League.
Mitrovic, who has scored 20 goals in total this season, including strikes against Arsenal, is available for transfer, however, with Anderlecht keen to cash in on their prized asset.
The Serbian international joined Anderlecht in 2013 from Partizan Belgrade for £3.5m but his transfer fee has now been increased to £15m, which Newcastle United are said to have paid.
John Carver’s side are under increased pressure at present after eight straight Premier League defeats and are currently looking for a new manager.
