Liverpool target Javier Pastore is demanding a salary increase at Paris Saint Germain worth £6.2m per year.

The former Palermo attacker has spoken of his desire to remain at Parc des Princes beyond his current deal but contract talks are said to have stalled after his ‘large’ demands.

PSG boss Laurent Blanc is unsure whether or not to offer an improved deal to the Argentine international or look elsewhere for a playmaker this summer.

And, his stalling on the new deal has seen the likes of Liverpool to reignite their interest.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been keen on the lively attacker for some-time and has accelerated his interest in recent weeks after further reports that Raheem Sterling could be set to join Premier League rivals Manchester City.

Pastore is seen as the perfect replacement for the English winger and talks with PSG are now being followed closely by Anfield officials.
