Inter Milan are preparing a bid in the region of £46.2m for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, the Daily Star reports.

The Ivory Coast international has been a key figure in City’s recent successes since joining them from Catalan giants Barcelona, but came close to departing the club lastsummer after reportedly being unhappy following a number of off-field incidents.

And, further failed contract negotiations have led Inter Milan to believe they can complete a summer move, where Toure would link up with former City boss Roberto Mancini, who is keen to change the Italian club’s fortunes around and bring the ‘good times’ back to the club.

Toure missed City’s 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and is said be available for transfer after a lacklustre season, matched with the the club’s poor performances in the Premier League, domestic cup competitions and the Champions League.

The Italian side are willing to sell a number of players this summer in a bid to recoup funds to sign the former Barcelona man and stay within FIFA’s Financial Fairplay guidelines.
