Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela could be on his way to Inter Milan, according to reports in the Evening Standard.

Lamela arrived at White Hart Lane from Roma in a reported £25.7m deal in August 2013. Despite entering the Premier League with a real promising reputation, the Argentine has struggled to adapt to life in England, and is expected to make the move back to Italy in the summer.

The 23-year-old has only made 24 Premier League starts for Tottenham, and has only found the net twice. However, he did catch the eye in the Europa League this season, when he hit an incredible 20-yard ‘rabona’ goal in a 5-1 win over Asteras Tripolis in October.

The Evening standard are reporting that Inter Milan are frontrunners for his signature, after receiving a personal recommendation from boss Roberto Mancini.

Spurs are set to miss out on a Champions League spot, as they are currently seven points behind Manchester United, with only four games remaining.
