Ex-Chelsea star wants Premier League return

Michael Essien is eyeing up a return to the Premier League after being released from Italian giants AC Milan, reports The Sun.

Essien had a very successful nine years at Stamford Bridge, winning two Premier League’s, four FA Cup’s, a League Cup and the Champions League in 2012.

The Ghanaian, who spent time on loan at Real Madrid, signed for AC Milan in January 2014. The 32-year-old has made 13 Serie A appearances for Milan this season.

Essien has now revealed he would like to return to the Premier League, where he spent most of his career. He may be 32 now, but he surely won’t be shy of any suitors.

The midfielder signed for Chelsea in a £24.4m deal from Lyon in 2005 – going on to make 150 Premier League starts for the Blues, scoring 17 times.

After seeing off Leicester City last night, Chelsea can secure the Premier League title on Sunday, if they beat Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
