Manchester United are clear to buy Real Madrid star Gareth Bale after the club are reported to be listening to offers, according to reports in Spain.

Following Liverpool’s defeat to Hull yesterday, United’s spot in next season’s Champions League is likely to be sealed. With Red Devil boss Louis van Gaal set to be spending big again to bolster his squad in time for next season.

Bale has been a long-term priority target for the upcoming transfer window, and according to reports, the La Liga side are now willing to listen to offers for the Wales international.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star would still command a large fee, although United could use goal-stopper David de Gea as leverage when negotiating a price.

Louis van Gaal’s United side are currenly fourth in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 65 points, two points behind Arsenal in third.
