Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini had admitted he’s been ‘disappointed’ with the impact of Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony this season.

Bony made a £28m move from Welsh side Swansea City in January. However, he’s struggled to kick-start his City career, and Pellegrini has admitted that Bony hasn’t had the impact he was expecting. The striker, who was a prolific goalscorer for the Swans, has only netted a single goal for the Citizens since making the switch.

Injuries have hampered his Manchester City career, and the forward has been restricted to just two Premier League starts. Speaking ahead of City’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Saturday, Pellegrini said; “Of course it’s disappointing – we bought him because we had the injuries to the strikers. We have five more games, 15 points. I’m sure Bony will be involved in them.”

Manchester City currently sit second in the Premier League table, ten points off of league leaders Chelsea.
