Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has told Arsenal’s official website that the Gunners have been ‘the best team in Europe’ since the turn of the year.
The 26-year-old hasn’t started a game for Arsene Wenger’s side since March, and he’s claimed that competition for places are as fierce as ever. Walcott believes if the squad can stay injury free next season, they have a real chance of lifting the Premier League trophy.
“I think, especially this season, not many people thought we would be challenging for the Premier League”, said Walcott.
He added; “In this calendar year, we have been the best team in Europe. It is the strongest the squad has been and everyone is staying fit as well.
“There aren’t many injuries in the squad, which is important. If we had an injury-free season, I think we could lift the title.”
The Gunners currently sit in third place in the Premier League table, level on points with Manchester City but with a game in hand.
