Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson has admitted that he doesn’t think he will be given a new contract in the summer.

The ex-England international, who started his career at West Ham United, and went onto play for Millwall, Chelsea, Portsmouth and now Liverpool, has told Sky Sports News he’s not expecting to stay at Anfield beyond the summer.

Johnson played the full 90 minutes in the Reds’ disappointing 1-0 defeat to Hull City at KC Stadium yesterday. After the game he was questioned on whether he thinks he will be leaving the club in the summer, he said; “I would have thought so – I haven’t got a contract.”

The defender added; “We’ll have to wait and see (if that is going to change). I don’t think so but we have to wait and see.”

The 30-year-old has spent six years at the Merseyside club, and has stacked up over 300 league appearances at his respective clubs, throughout his illustrious career.
