Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has attracted some unwanted interest from Italian giants AC Milan. But Spurs want to keep the 20-year-old at White Hart Lane, according to the Daily Star.

Bentaleb, who made his breakthrough under former boss Tim Sherwood last term, has impressed once again in the heart of the Tottenham midfield. He has very quickly turned himself into a vital player for Mauricio Pochettino, and the Argentinian boss will want him to sign an extension as soon as possible.

The Algeria international has already racked up an impressive 37 Premier League appearances for the Lilywhites, since making his debut against Pochettino’s Southampton in a 3-2 win in December 2013.

Milan currently sit tenth in Serie A, a staggering 30 points off of leaders Juventus. Meanwhile, Spurs are sixth in the Premier League, seven points off a much-coveted Champions League spot. Pochettino’s side will want to challenge for the top four again next season, and keeping Bentaleb could prove to be pivotal.
