Southampton stars Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin won’t be leaving St Mary’s this summer, according to their Head of Football Development Les Reed.

The Saints’ combative midfielder Schneiderlin has been heavily linked with a move away from the club on more than one occasion since Southampton were promoted to the top flight in 2012.

As for Rodriguez, a reported £7m signing from Burnley in 2012, he’s been a huge hit with the Saints supporters – but has yet to feature for over a year due to a horrendous injury.

Southampton’s Head of Football Development told SSNHQ; “It wouldn’t be our intention to sell any of our players this summer.

“We’re in the process of renegotiating contracts with some but our main purpose at the moment is keeping this squad together and adding to it.”

The South Coast club have had a superb season under Ronald Koeman, despite many big name players leaving last summer. The Dutch boss will not only be looking to keep hold of his best players, he will want to add to his squad to push on again next season.
