Arsenal and Manchester United have been handed a transfer blow in their reported chase for Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani.

The Premier League duo are both seen to be eager to land the forward, who has been suggested to be unsettled at the French club.

However, days after Cavani stated his desire to remain at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted the 28-year-old is not for sale.

“He is young and the future of the club,” he said.

“He needs more confidence but his last match [where he scored twice against Lille] proved his talent. He will be Parisien next season.”

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side are currently third in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 67 points, with Manchester United in fourth on 65 points.
