Liverpool have emerged as possible suitors for Manchester City’s out-of-favour striker Stevan Jovetic, according to reports in the Daily Express.

Since Jovetic’s high-profile arrival at the Etihad Stadium in July 2013, the 25-year-old has struggled to hold down a Premier League starting place for the Citizens. The forward arrived from Fiorentina for a reported £22m, but the Montenegro international has failed to live up to his hype, and has been heavily tipped for a move away from Manchester.

Following Liverpool’s goalless draw against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers has admitted he would like to bolster his attacking options in the summer.

After the disappointing 0-0 draw at the Hawthornes, the Reds boss said; “We just don’t score as many goals, it’s as simple as that. We will look at it in the summer and it’s somewhere we will have to do some work on.”

Rodgers will be hoping to add to his squad in the summer – bringing in some new faces, and getting rid of the deadwood.
