Liverpool will attempt a £65m spending spree on Alex Song, Christian Benteke and Manchester United target Memphis Depay, according to reports.

Despite pressure on Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, the Northern Irish coach is expected to be handed a whopping £65m transfer budget this summer.

And, it is understood that Aston Villa’s Benteke, Barcelona’s Alex Song and PSV’s Depay are the players who he would like to see arrive at Anfield.

Belgian striker Benteke has returned to fine form of late and is expected to leave Villa this summer after interest from a number of top European sides.

Song, who is currently on loan with West Ham is no longer wanted by Catalan side Barcelona, whilst Depay has already held talks with Liverpool in the past week.

Manchester United are also keen on the latter, but Rodgers is confident that his transfer kitty and plans for next season can lure all three to the club.
