He already has the support of most of the fans, but Louis van Gaal has now offered his support to the United legend in his bid to take the reins at Old Trafford in the future.

Of course, Giggs has already had a taste of what it’s like to hold one of the top jobs in world football when he took charge at United after the sacking of David Moyes at the end of last season.

Giggs called it the “proudest moment” of his footballing career and there’s no doubt he’d absolutely love to take on the role again on a more permanent basis.

Van Gaal revealed that Giggs has been a fantastic assistant since the Dutchman joined the club and made his vision of the future at United clear stating “I expect that [Giggs] will be the next manager after I’ve gone.”

The Welshman will have to wait for his dream role however as Louis van Gaal’s contract will see him at the club until at least 2017. This will give Giggs time to master his craft, learning from one of the best in the business.

Paul Scholes has also said recently that he hopes, and expects, to see Ryan Giggs takeover at the club in the future. If he does, at such a young age, his knowledge of the club, the game and his time working with managers like Ferguson and van Gaal will give Giggs all the building blocks to become an exceptional manager.
