West Ham hope to bring Javier Hernandez back to the Premier League

West Ham are confident £8million will be enough to make Chicarito a Hammers player next season.

Hernandez grabbed all the headlines this week after his late winner against Athletico Madrid on Wednesday night in the Champions League quarter-final but that has very much been the highlight of his largely unsuccessful Real Madrid career.

While ‘Little Pea’ managed to grab the all-important goal, he only found himself starting the game because Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale were unavailable through injury.

The Mexican forward has only made two starts for Carlo Ancelotti since his loan move from Manchester United and he doesn’t seem to feature in Louis Van Gaal’s plans either.

As a result, West Ham hope that this means he’ll be available relatively cheap this summer and they’ll be able to get their man for well under £10million.

These sort of targets are testament to the change in playing style at West Ham under Sam Allardyce as he looks to shake the ‘long ball’ image and bring in players, like Hernandez, who thrive on playing off the last defender or getting on the end of crosses across the box.
